I agree with you, Cal, I love to bike also.
I ride a 27" mountain bike though, but it has street tires. I'm not into competitive biking or long distance, I just use it run small errands (low gas mileage and zero emission) or to go to beach and take a dive. But I have to admit, it does me good to do those aerobics. My body says thank you after every ride. Sedentary as I am it is indeed about the best I can do for myself to keep me physically and mentally fit. Love the shower of endorphins and other brain chemicals that engulf me after every ride. I can recommend it to anyone.
Swimming and body surfing in the Ocean is nice but combined with the deep oxygen intake when doing a ride up and down our SoCal hills is the max. I just turned 50 Thursday (going on 30) and do feel the need for that sustained effort to keep fit.
Lift the Veil of Hypnosis to experience Bliss of the Other Side.
Maybe it's me, but I see hypnosis as a medium to lead ourselves (auto-hypnosis) and others (hetero-hypnosis) to the Sacred pathway of the inner realm. The realm of the subconscious mind that is in touch with everything. Maybe it's like prayer. Angels and Spirits could be waiting on the other side. It is as if a veil separates us from our true selves and the all knowing beyond this Universe.
Am I spiritually clean enough to do this for myself let alone with and for others? Is there something as spiritual contamination? Could my mental cooties affect their mind and vice versa? Are there consequences?
One thing I know though, veils are sexy!

As far as I know, I always found that French hypnotism is the most powerful in effect. I don't know why? Is it the language perhaps? Remember, F.A. Mesmer, even though he was Austrian, practiced in Paris around the French Revolution (1789). Later there were: le Marquis De Puységur, Jean-Martin Charcot, Ambroise-Auguste Liébeault, Emile Coué, and l'Abbé Faria (even though he was Portuguese, but born in Goa, India) later worked in Paris.
I have a few old French books that give me the exact same feeling when I read them, as when I watched the video mentioned above. Somehow the French (stage) hypnotists have that flair for the dramatic. So many of the French seem poets and perhaps therefore have a closer connection to the feeling mind. Or, it may be a cultural phenomenon. People from warmer climates are more open and have easier access to each other, because they could get out more into the open. They could reach out to one another, as opposed to the people from the cold north, that were more confined to their place of shelter. (Maybe that's why they became clock makers).
Maybe this is typical for the "Latin or Romance language group" (French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian,...) where feeling and pathos seem to be stronger, as opposed to the Germanic Language group (English, German, Dutch, Danish, Swedish,...), where analysis, abstract thinking is perhaps more prevalent.
There are always exceptions that confirm the rule of course, for example: René Descartes, among many others, was a brilliant French mathematician, and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a German poet, who also touched many other disciplines.
As technical as we get with NLP and modern day hypnosis techniques, what the Old School showed seems to have to do with feeling with the subject. Also notice that the hypnotist in the video does more touching of the subject than we see in today's stage shows. What's shown is closer to magnetic hypnosis or mesmerism. Sometimes it looks as if he's caressing the subject's Aura. He also calls his technique: "Magie Rose" literally: "Pink Magic", hypnosis of sentiment or feeling, aligning with the subject. Cool stuff!
Pink Magic: is related to feelings("sentir" in French means "to feel" or "to touch" in English). It is closely related to red magic (used by so called: Enchantresses, hypnodom(me)s and the like), but its practice is more for the good than for the bad, often it is used as a love filter, or to enhance sexual capacity, or as a remedy tied to love and sexuality, but always as a form of white magic. In other words for someone else's benefit and not for the benefit of operator.
Once in a dream, I saw humanity as a pure energy life form of only conscious thought. We had evolved into an interconnected collective comprised of free individual thought and we existed forever in Oneness. You'll say, well,... that's the (promise of an) Afterlife, or a sequence from the Matrix. Maybe that's true, I don't know. (Check out previous link, it has a cool Flash movie of the Matrix and its characters). This is where Faith and Science touch asymptotically.
String Theory, predicts existence of Parallel Universes, or real dimensions beyond the four (L, W, D, & T) of Space-Time, and may be proven valid after the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Switzerland becomes operational, in 2007. Think about it, we create thoughts from feelings and emotions in the four dimensional world. But where do thoughts go? They influence and become part of our mind. Our mind surrounds us and stretches out beyond the four dimensions of the material universe we know. As human evolution continues, our infinite minds would tear free from the shell that it once inhabited. It is my hope that we reach this point even though it may take millions of years, or maybe never...
I saw in my dream that the beings of light energy had total transformation power over matter. A simple thought could physically change a locomotive into a flower. The ultimate Philosopher's Stone realized. Even though you'd think what would be the purpose of a locomotive at that stage of evolution.J We could travel freely between galaxies just by a mere thought. No need for warp drives or opening worm holes to cover distances of millions of light-years. We could be anywhere at once.
Maybe the Internet (a Virtual Reality form of interconnectedness) and new technologies that allow brainwaves to control your computer, and thus also multimedia applications, is the onset of this gradual change. A new mind reading interface developed by Neurosky.com may be the beginning of a new breed of man, when we cause material change to happen with just pure thought alone. We may develop a higher level of consciousness and exercise our innate psychic powers such as telekinesis, remote viewing, material creation by thought, that will become part of our evolution as we progress to use these types of technologies.
It's like riding a bike. At first you're uncertain and need stabilizers, then after a while your parents remove the stabilizers. You may wobble and even fall. But with practice you develop a better equilibrium and it becomes a part of you. The experience is engrained in your mind and you know how to ride a bike for the rest of your life.
The same could work for a mind reading interface. As our minds learn to control machines by thought, new neural pathways are created in the brain, which is really a neuro-transceiver (organic Wi-Fi?), a mind-to-body interface that transmits brain waves into the aether to interact with the mind. The mind (not the brain) is now programmed to perform this way. After a while we can take off our mind reader visors and manifest without them. This ability becomes genetically encoded in our DNA and passed on to the next generations.
